Lab system administrator

Role Overview Join our Media Lab team as a Lab Systems Administrator where you'll contribute to real-life, state-of-the-art technology to validate audio and video quality at a big tech company. You will ensure that our testing lab infrastructure is stable, standardized, and ready to run critical product testing. This role blends hands-on hardware troubleshooting with systematic systems administration, including OS upgrades, automated configuration deployment and lifecycle management of 3rd party applications. Core Responsibilities Daily Operations & Maintenance System Health: Proactively investigate and resolve issues with unhealthy devices. You will document exact reproduction steps and contribute to the "Device Maintenance Playbook" to streamline future fixes. Inventory Management: Maintain accuracy in the device inventory database. You will track hardware components and maintain a professional lab environment. Reporting: Deliver weekly lab administration reports, highlighting progress and escalating blockers

Planned Systems Administration Software Lifecycle: Manage monthly 3rd-party application updates across all platforms. OS Maintenance: Lead quarterly OS update cycles. This involves creating comprehensive test and rollback plans, performing backups. Documentation: Ensure all update processes and maintenance steps are documented in the centralized knowledge base. Hardware Deployment & Scaling: Physically set up new devices, image OS, configure new machines using centralized configuration tools and validate running comprehensive test suites to verify hardware health and ensure core functionality is operational before going live.

Technically Savvy: You have experience with OS imaging, network connectivity troubleshooting, and hardware maintenance. Process-Driven: You enjoy following (and improving) playbooks and standardized procedures. Programming enthusiast: You enjoy programming and automating systems.

Required Skills Program title required: IT-infrastrukturspecialist, Systemintegratör, Cloud-specialist, Nätverkstekniker, or similar. Experience with Linux/Windows/macOS administration. Experience with coding in Power Shell, Bash and Python. Understanding of Network Hardware and testing environments. Project management skills. Professional English both written and spoken. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with fleet management. Knowledge of embedded systems and OS. Experience with audio and video systems.
